The CONNECT is normally all GAPMenu needs to see. You might need to experiment with the "Seconds to wait for Connect". If the Telnet Connection isn't causing Carrier Detect to be turned on, you may need to tell check your modem settings to make sure Carrier is being raised when there is a connection.
