Hawker is still around. He checks in every once in awhile. This Web Site (and all our other sites) are running on Red Hat Enterprise (Linux). We rent a server from ev1servers.net. They are unmanaged so it is pretty much the same as running your own machine, except that you do everything from a Shell prompt! I gave up running Free BSD and Linux at home. Too much work. I also like running whatever software I want. There is just such a plethora of software for Windows and if I feel like whipping up a program to do something, its just so much easer to do it for Windows than the Unix clones. God, I was 30 when we first started GAP! Kenny |
