Kenny, There is a very nice freeware program called Slicer that makes DOS programs "behave" nicely for OS/2 that I'm running. Since I'm using an OS/2 native front-end mailer, GAP works spiff. GAP's also quite quick under OS/2 too. As for the BBS Construction Kit, my wife (who's a bookwork and going to school to become a librarian) pointed me to http://www.allbookstores.com. Here's the specific link: http://www.allbookstores.com/book/0471007978 That comparison shops different bookstore sites. I got it off of half.com. Amazon also carries it. I had that book back in '94 and loved it. I fired up GAP and believe it or not, it has a LOT of features that I like! I especially like the built-in FSE, ZModem, QWK stuff, etc. I'm waiting for the book to arrive before I go much more and I'll have the manual printed out too (Staples does it on the cheap side). As for your DOS stuff, it should. XP has a special ability to emulate older versions of Windows (I don't know how to get to it, but I know it's there). I really DO appreciate you trying to dig up your stuff and recompile it. It means a lot to have a BBS author around. Thanks again for all of your help. Later, Sean |
